Amethyst
In ancient Greece the Amethyst was supposed to prevent a hangover and to get drunk.
“Amethystos” (lat.) – means counteracting the alcohol intoxication. According to the set of beliefs a wine drunken from of a cup of Amethyst will not make drunk.
Wearing an Amethyst also was supposed to prevent from suffering the intoxicating effects of wine.
A well-known German discovery site is Steinkaulenberg at Idar-Oberstein. Meanwhile the extraction of minerals there is forbidden. The site however is a mine museum today and open to visitors.
