The gooseberry of the gemstones
The Grossular was named 1811 after the latin word for ‘gooseberry’ (ribes grossularia) due to its mainly green colour.
The Grossular is a frequent existing mineral of the garnet group, the colour between yellow-green and dark-green are dominantly found.
Grossulars can also be found in gold-yellow, from pink to red, orange and yellowish or reddish-brown colour.
