Saphir Ceylon

Sapphire is a variety of the mineral Corundum to which all colourless and coloured varieties are counted apart from the Red ruby.

In addition to their use as gemstones Sapphires are used as popular raw material in the industry for various purposes of applications.

During the 1950s and 1960s they were used e.g. as phonograph cartridges for turntables.
